SUNDAY 27 MARCH | SEVENTH GALLERY, RICHMOND

Archiving Care Workshop 1–3pm AEDT
MOTHERFESTO Zine Launch 3.30–5pm AEDT

Archiving Care is a participatory, process-based sculptural work led by artists Claire Field and Caroline Phillips. Participants are invited to consider what acts of care they have recently given or received, and to then share these acts in a material form that contributes to a growing sculptural archive and accompanying digital database. Everyone is welcome and all materials are provided.

This free workshop will be followed by the launch of artist Claudia Pharès’ zine MOTHERFESTO: on motherhood, feminism and practical tips. The event and zine celebrate the conclusion of Claudia’s artist residency at W.A.R, in collaboration with And Also Presents.

Throughout the pandemic, whilst in and out of lockdown, parenting and working as frontline healthcare worker, Claudia Pharès has continued to make art. She has researched motherhood and art in the W.A.R. archive, created new work in a studio residency at And Also Presents, exhibited at Bargoonga Nganjin North Fitzroy Library and guest edited Issue #68 of the Bulletin magazine. Join us for drinks to celebrate Claudia’s amazing work!

Bookings are essential for both events.
