SUBMITTING SLIDES & DOCUMENTATION
The Women's Art Register invites women artists to submit slides and documentation of their work for inclusion in the Register (painting, sculpture, photographs, embroidery, prints, ceramics, pottery, mixed media, or any visual or domestic art).  The Register was established in 1975 and is an incorporated body administered by a voluntary committee.

Mission Statement
To ensure the continual growth and importance of the Women's Art Register as a dynamic, visual arts resource and archive of slides, information folders, books, videos and catalogues representing over 2000 Australian women artists.

Aims

  • To be Australia's most comprehensive source for recording the work, lives and attitudes of Australian women artists.
  • To produce timely and relevant information on subjects related to women and the visual arts.
  • To make material accessible throughout Australia and internationally by:
    • producing an annual catalogue of the Women's Art Register to ensure the availability of material for institutional, private or corporate loan;
    • distributing material through the national library network, and educational institutions;
    • providing information relating to art and the works of artists contained in the Women’s Art Register to the community;
    • aggressively promoting women artists.
  • To successfully attain financial support from local/state and national funding bodies.
  • To promote female artists through innovative, entrepreneurial, exciting activities that increase awareness, potential income and respect.
  • Embrace technology to update the Register, maintain the Internet site and archiving system.

By submitting your slides you will be contributing to the wealth of information on Australian women artists and assisting in the above aims and objectives. You and your work will receive exposure in a catalogue that is distributed nationally to tertiary colleges, schools, arts organisations, researchers and curators. The slides in the register are available for borrowing through the Australia wide using the inter library loans system.

We request that you send two sets of slides or two CDs with images saved as .jpg files of your work. One set will be placed in the library for viewing and loan to the general public, teachers, researchers etc. The second set will be stored in an archive only to be used for copy purposes should a slide be lost or damaged. Copyright remains with the copyright owner who grants permission to the Register to use the slides as described on the agreement form.

Fill in and return the attached forms with your slides and documentation to the Women’s Art Register, c/o address above.
