The Information Folders held by the Women's Art Register are available for public viewing at the Richmond Public Library, Melbourne, during Library opening hours. They contain examples of artwork, biographical information, catalogues and newspaper clippings relating to thousands of historic and contemporary Australian women artists. The catalogue of contents is constantly reviewed and annually updated.

This forthcoming publication charts the life and work of a remarkable member of the Women's' Art Register and one of Australia's foremost art historians.

Joan Kerr made a substantial contribution to writing the history of many fields hardly touched on by academics, curators and art critics until the 1970s and 1980s. She worked tirelessly to change the face of art history and expand the range of artists and artforms considered to shape the history of and heritage of all Australians and championed the cause of overlooked Australian artists, from artists working a century ago to teenage producers of `Zines.

"More Than Just Gumtrees" a history of the Melbourne Society of Women Painters and Sculptors - includes several hundred biographies of members from 1902 to present day.

This is the best source of information on historic Australian women artists as it includes 500 works by 500 Australian women artists from colonial times to 1955.

Women Artists and the Cult of Plein Air by Juliet Peers gives a full description of the earliest days of our women pioneers painting the landscape, Plein Air, in Australia; at such places as Hampton and Heidelberg. There are 15 pages of unique text with many remarkable illustrations which also has an exhaustive bibliography.

"The Story of Australian Art" by William Moore, published by Angus & Robertson Sydney 1980. Reprinted 1934 history of Australian art, includes much information on women artists and sculptors.
