Karen Green

Statement

In 1974, when I was 7, I recall feeling a strong connection to the paint I was using and so painting & drawing & being creative has always been part of my life. However, it wasn't until I was in my 30s that I began to pursue painting as a career. So, I'm self-taught mostly and have been developing my professional art practice since 2000. Central themes of my work include women, identity, and domesticity, with a specific focus on challenging stereotypes and perceptions. And, I love to paint unconventional portraits!
