Transition  -  2 pi R Artists - see Star  Artists
Art Historian, Dr. Juliette Peers, placed the 2pi r Group in an historical context when she wrote the catalogue essay for their inaugural exhibition shown at the Span Gallery, Melbourne, October 1999.  She gave a succinct account of societal influences in Australia in the 1970’s and the impact of feminism as a force within the art world where women artists ‘set the pace’.

The group consists of twelve women:  Vita Beder, Meg Benwell, Toni Bucknell, Isabel Davies, Wendy Kelly, Maureen McDermott, Rachel Rovay, Josie Telfer, Lillian Townsend, Aloma Treister, Pam Wragg and Maxienne Tritton Young.

Donna Marcus, Hannah Bertram and Luciana Perin explore  nostalgic domestic objects such as 1950.
Taxidermist and fine jeweller Julia deVille works with recycled jet, found creatures and taxidermy to create stunningly strange wearable art objects.

Landscape Identiy  & Preservation  - Penny Algar

Penny Algar is a sculpture/horticulture artist. Her professional practice over the past 10-15 years has covered a range of media and techniques. However since completing a graduate Diploma in Applied Science - Environmental Horticulture in 1997, most of the project work with which she had been involved has combined sculpture and horticulture. Currently engaged almost solely with public art projects.

'Scapes' grew out of a trip to Longreach Queensland during a drought. The long endless flat horizon stayed with me for a long time as did the images of the dry cracked earth. These elements were the initial inspiration for a series of landscapes that evolved into slightly more optimistic views
