Yugoslavian born Dragica returns to the Breadbox Gallery in 2007 to exhibit a series of distinctive abstract paintings.

Emily and ‘Morning Tea’
A passion unleashed / From me to you / Art, anyone?

With her work currently on display at the prestigious Fremantle Print Awards, Emily Holt is the first artist to launch the Subiaco Library Artists Evenings on Monday 16 October 2006 at 6pm. The purpose of these evenings is to gain insight into the machinations of an artist’s mind, learn about various artistic techniques and view artists’ work.

Holt’s current work, a melding of expressionistic contour drawing and digital work, juxtaposes a simplicity and directness of form with the flexibility of modern media.

To join Emily Holt at the Subiaco Library (cnr Bagot & Rokeby Roads Subiaco WA) 6pm Monday 16th October 2006 and learn more about her artistic journey, please RSVP on 9381 5088 or library@subiaco.wa.gov.au.

Materials & Techniques Series: Paper

Eugene Carchesio (QLD), Kate Cotching (VIC), Annabel Dixon (WA),  Koji Ryui, Sandra Selig (QLD).- et al... Curated by Hannah Mathews

Following on from the success of 2005's Drawn Out, which focused on extending popular understandings of drawing in a contemporary context, the second exhibition in this series focuses on the material and techniques of paper. This exhibition brings together artists from across Australia who work with paper in ways that are innovative, exciting and engaging. From origami folding robots, paper forms living on rocks, newspaper competitions and book sculptures, the exhibition presents paper in ways never seen before!
