Isabel Davies Exhibition :    Song of the Shore

A fantastic array of specimens from Black's Beach Mackay
was the inspiration for this group of work.
Each art work  was created  with collage and found objects
to evoke particular images of a memorable shore line.

Stranded at Doggett Street Studio, Lesa Hepburn creates paper.  Lesa transforms her papers into paintings, drawings, sculptures and prints. The exhibition demonstrates the variety and range of works Lesa produces from her papers.

"Residua "uses the new technologies to explore consciousness through an immersive Installation. Moving images and sound fill a room animating thought processes and daydreams. Ceramic masks are screens for movies that reference physiognomy as the product of consciousness.

Margaret Preston: art and life

Margaret Preston (1875-1963) is one of Australia's most celebrated modernists. Preston's most important decades were the 1920s and thirties, when she created exuberant decorative compositions which have remained amongst the most popular of all Australian artworks.

Townsville artist Margot Douglas presents new work in jewellery and artist books exploring cultural connections of family history and heritage. 

Port Douglas was named after her great grandfather John Douglas whose political life and surviving documentation is the inspiration for her unique forms of jewellery. 

The exhibition marks the centennial anniversary of John Douglas death on Thursday Island.
